Lola Luz 80th Bday – Anaheim, CA

By PartiesNo Comments

My awesome grandmother had her 80th Birthday celebration in Anaheim, CA last weekend. I had to post some of the memorable shots of this party. It's always fun when we have these because it brings family from all sorts of different lands together – My cousins and family visited from Candadaland, Wisconson, Florida, even the Philippines! These events are sometimes overwhelming bringing together cousins, aunts, uncles and friends of which we see only in 5, 10, even 20 years increments.  Awesome week to say the least…

This is uncle louie, he's a crackup. The Speech.
The epic Mom and Dad dancing shot!

Before it ends…

My little cousin Baby James, heh… this guys got all the lines.

-“How do you know this family”

-“You're lola's daughter? you look too old”

-“Where's my chicken nuggets”

-“My mom has a cousin named Adrian, and he's gay”

And of course…

Engagement Photography Torrance Beach – Douglas and Bethany

By Engagements, WeddingsOne Comment

Enjoy a freezing moment from an engagement shoot I recently finished at Torrance Beach, CA. Aside from running around before sunset and taking photos for several hours in what felt was 40 degree California weather, I really enjoyed this engagement shoot. I thought these were some of the better shots that came out that day. The couple was very willing to do whatever I told them no matter how cold it was. Thanks guys, and sorry you two almost froze to death running through the water towards the end of the shoot.

Family Photographer – Huntington Beach Shoot – Tolentino Sisters

By Family Photography, PortraitsNo Comments

Did a family shoot for Julie and her sisters- Amy and Sarah, in Huntington Beach, CA. These looked great when we blew them up, even though I prefer canvas, a 14×20″ did well in a nice large frame. Did these over the past winter break but have been super busy with work that it's taken me a while to put up. Also, I'm in need of redesigning my website and so on.

Gotta throw in some portraits right?

Aw man… I know this has nothing to do with photography, but I thought I'd ask the audience on this one…? I'm not going to log in until I get the correct answer. I don't care if you are my gmail.

Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles

By RandomNo Comments

Well I got baby showers, car photos, family portraits and random concert stuff… why not make it even more interesting adding a bunch of “fun” museum photos. Hah enjoy… oh btw, that's not me.

Strange people…

Let's remember I did not take these.

Nope, I didn't know she was there.

Happy Tuesday!

Stock Product Photos

By Shoots, StockNo Comments

So I usually don't do product photography, but since I was asked to do these as a favor from my sister… AND, I spent soooo much time on them I will display the end result here. The client wanted a white background so it took hours to remove each of the products from the “white/off-white” background. I used pieces of paper held up by clothes hangers and several flashes to light these up. I just forgot to take a picture of the setup, my favorite shots 🙁 .

Doreen's Birthday Photos

By Parties, RandomNo Comments

Shots from my friend Doreen's house in San Francisco! I thought I would share a few of these from her “3-month-early-birthday-party.” A lot of craziness going on here, I had one job, capture the craziness. And…. this is what I got.

Just a photo outside Doreen's window… you know.

Baby Shower Photos – Anthony Zuniga and Stephanie Theole

By Baby, Blog, ShootsNo Comments

Last month I was invited to my good buddy Anthony and Stephanie's baby shower. I can't wait till she arrives! Okay, just kidding, I'm writing this post a bit late and it's already outta the womb! Congrats on the two for they're little baby Akira! This is Anthony's first baby. It's actually kind of exciting to see all the close friends and family of mine having so many babies, I think this is the fourth in the past year! I'll be back to this site and update you with the new baby Akira photos soon!

Of course my camera joined me and here were some of the moments I was able to capture.

My favorite Maliya – Also known as Ma-ri-yah! Haha, She's going to be a great older sister.

Anthony
Wendy and her children.

Some photos of Leslie and Jacob's baby Holly…
More photos of Holly…
My rare use of black and white…
Cute baby, way too tall for her age though, haha, apparently she's in the top 90th percentile (height or length) of babies her age.

Los Angeles Family Photographer – Christian, Lucelle and Gwenyth Esoy

By Family PhotographyOne Comment

I recently had the opportunity to shoot the Esoy family before Christmas. My friend Gilbert and I (thanks Gilbs) scoped out Terranea (in Palos Verdes) for the first time and man this place was gorgeous. Definitely a great place to shoot portraits, weddings, or even practice landscapes. I felt an instant chemistry with the family and it allowed me to capture them with a natural feel. The day felt more like playing at the park with my own cousin's and niece. It was a challenge to try to get Gwenyth to say anything or even smile but after maybe an hour and 3 scenery changes she was yapping up a storm.

Now everyone lift Gwenyth with your faces!

Show them the light Gwenyth!

I couldn't get enough of these dancing shots. It was so funny trying to get Gwenyth to do the “ballerina.”…And the “Sprinkler.” Come on Mom show'em show it's done!

The true “Simba” came out and we couldn't stop making her “roar.”

Update: Look what I got in the mail! Snapped a photo of it and uploaded it here:

Honda S2000 Meet Shoot

By ShootsNo Comments

For this shot I found myself sitting in a parking lot somewhere lost in Orange County. Staging these cars was no easy task. This shot took about 4-5 hours of preparation not to mention post processing work and trying to get as many S2000's as I could into the shot.

Had to go with HDR on this one… as you can see the comparison below.

Here is the before shot:

Welcome to my newly designed site!

By ShootsNo Comments

So after changing domains several times I believe I have finally settled down here. Thanks for joining me for my grand re-opening of my photography site. My plan is to constantly update this area with current work and shoots I have done in the past. It is also here to open up discussion and for me to hopefully conversate with some of you and to get some input so stick around and thanks for reading!

As a photographer I can't end a blog post without throwing in a photo. So here's a shot I did a few years back as I was just getting used to shooting with wireless strobes.

Hawaii – Paradise Cove Luau

By TravelNo Comments

Went to Hawaii for a friends 1st birthday party. Apparently that's a big deal in Hawaii who would have known! Anyway, here are some other shots from the trip… Yep, we did a luau for the massive tourist experience, why not? I actually enjoy tourist attractions for the most part. Don't get me wrong, enjoying the culture of the homeland definitely has it's perks. But sometimes you just gotta do the tourist thing. One day I will step back and do some Hollywood tours, and try to find that mansion from American Horror Story, that'll be interesting.
